Family Packs 43 Theplas for 90-Minute Flight “Just in Case”
Airline admits the cabin smelled incredible and the crew was fed twice.
AHMEDABAD: A family of four boarded a ninety-minute flight this weekend carrying 43 theplas, two boxes of chhundo and what one passenger described as “a small, well-run kitchen”.
“You never know,” said the mother, unwrapping the first foil packet before the seat-belt sign had come on. “What if the plane is late? What if the food is bland? What if somebody near us looks hungry?”
Somebody near them did look hungry. By cruising altitude, rows 14 to 19 had been served.
Cabin crew admitted that the official meal service was “not our strongest showing” against the competition. One attendant was seen accepting a third thepla “for later”.
The family landed with eleven theplas left over, which they described as “cutting it very close”.
