Dussehra Fafda-Jalebi Queue Now Visible From Space, Say People in the Queue
Man at position 212 says he joined “sometime during Navratri”.
AHMEDABAD: The Dussehra morning queue for fafda-jalebi has grown so long that it can now be seen from space, according to several people standing in it who have had a lot of time to think.
The line reportedly begins at a farsan shop, passes two temples and a petrol pump, and ends in a neighbouring district, where newcomers are being told it is “moving fast”.
“My father stood in this queue. His father stood in this queue,” said a man at position 212. “I joined sometime during Navratri and I have made good friends here.”
The shop owner said demand was normal. “Every year people act surprised,” he said, weighing jalebi without looking up. “It is the same day every year. It is on the calendar.”
Experts advise sending one family member ahead at dawn. Families say that member has not been heard from since.
